Anyone wishing to serve on a Civil Defense Committee first had to undergo a thorough screening and an interview. Print out the following form and review the instructions below.

ROLE PLAY EXERCISE:

Assign three students the role of being War Department representatives in charge of forming a Civil Defense Committee for your town in 1942.    Have each student-applicant fill out the form separately.   Then the Defense Committee will conduct brief interviews with each person and render a decision as to which 4 members of the class will serve as the chairpersons for the  Air Raid Warden, Fire Warden, Public Health, and Communications committees.
