Army of Northern Virginia-  Confederate Army in the eastern theater commanded by Robert E. Lee 1862_1865

Army of the Potomac- Union Army in the eastern theatre tasked with the dual missions of capturing Richmond the Confederate capital and protecting Washington the Union capital.

Cavalry: soldiers fighting on horseback, the eyes of the infantry
